//DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
As a design philosophy, I decided to approach interaction in a different way. To do so, I abandoned the concept of buttons and icons, which reference the computer environment, and opted to be inspired by the material itself and the rituals of reading. It became clear, after imposing those constraints, that the main objective was to use the object and it's inherent properties in relation to body movement. Spatial presence, flexibility and scale where some of the issues that seemed more interesting to work with.

“Beyond the Fold” was reborn from an early iteration named ENP (electronic newspaper project) that started in 2006. The point of entry for this project was an emerging technology called e-paper and It started as a provocation that explored the idea of gesture as a means to interface with a futuristic, paper like, device. In the early iteration I defined the basic interactions that were later expanded in version 2.0.
